Massage Educators Launch New Organization.
A new national organization for massage therapy schools and
educators launched late this summer. The Alliance for
Massage Therapy Education (www.afmte.org) is intended to
serve as an independent voice and advocate for the entire
massage-education sector, from entry-level training programs
through post-graduate studies.
Alliance Names Rick Rosen as Executive Director
The Leadership Team for the Alliance for Massage Therapy
Education has named North Carolina school director Rick
Rosen, M.A., L.M.B.T., to serve as its executive director
during the initial developmental process. Rosen has worked
in the massage therapy field for more than 30 years, and has
taken other non-profit massage organizations through
successful startups.
Continuing Education Opens Doors
Attending massage school and earning your license to
practice are two steps that serve as the foundation of a
career in massage and bodywork. Once you complete your
education and pass any necessary exams in order to get
credentialed, you can get started in a daily practice.
High-Tech Home Study: Part Two
Last time, we discussed how the evolution of technology over
the past 60 years has benefited home study education
programs. While technology has greatly enhanced classroom
education in all types of school settings, including massage
school, many students lack the ability to attend live
classes and must rely primarily on home study programs for
their primary and continuing education. Fortunately, these
advances in technology have enhanced home study courses just
as much, and maybe even more, than classroom learning.
