Ayurveda is the science of longevity and self healing. Join us where the magic and ancient wisdom of the east meets the majestic modern-day mountains of the Catskills. This retreat serves as an opportunity for Karyn’s ayurveda health counselor (AHC) students to earn their required internship hours for graduation, as well as for Karyn’s guests (friends, clients, card/astrology/yoga students and alumni) to gather with other kindred spirits and enjoy the amenities that Menla has to offer. AHC students will be on a schedule for internship, but will given time to pamper themselves at the spa, meditate, do yoga indulge in sumptuous farm-to-table meals and immerse themselves in nature. Karyn’s guest will be welcome to join in the AHC classes or volunteer as a client and receive a free ayurveda health consultation with the students on their AHC internship. Or simply join us for exquisite meals, yoga classes, meditations and group hikes. Spouses of students are welcome to join the group for free from tuition.

Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) is the ancient divination system of India and considered the "Eyes of the Veda". Veda refers the innate wisdom that exists in all living things. Jyoti means light or flame. Ish means god. Jyotish means lord of the light or science of light. Vidya means knowledge where science, magic and art merge. Jyotish Vidya is the study of all aspects of planets and luminaries – the Sun and the Moon, aka the queen and king of the galaxy. Jyotish Vidya (Astrology) is very useful for Ayurvedic Health Practitioners and Yoga Instructors as a resourceful, insightful adjunct to an Ayurvedic consultation. In fact, the best Ayurvedic doctors won't give a consultation without a glance at their client's Jyotish chart. It is applicable for the benefit of humanity from time immemorial and its roots can be traced to the origin of life through mythological, religious revelations and other sacred ancient texts. I believe the future of psychology, spiritual life coaching and all over forms of emotional/mental healing and counseling will use Jyotish as it's foundation because a talented Jyotishi can "peer" into the astral body of his/her client and understand the karmas, dharma, gifts, challenges, medical issues and nature of the personality and physical and emotional body even before meeting the client. As above; so below.

Karyn Mahrie Chabot, M.Ay, LMT, RYT started studying the ancient science of the cards and Vedic astrology for fun about 18 years ago and started reading for friends and family. She was busy running Sacred Stone School in Newport, RI, but had such a high demand for readings from everyone, that she decided that she should make part of her professional services. Karyn is warm, approachable, trustworthy and offers very grounded strategies for understanding the gifts and challenges of your blueprint.  She cleverly merges free will into her predictions and always reminds clients that they are co-creators of their life.
